Flushing Program

Hixson Utility has an annual maintenance program that involves flushing water mains and hydrants throughout the district. This program will be ongoing for the next couple of months, beginning in mid-February. You may see our crews around the district performing this work. If you see water flowing from a water hydrant throughout the day, don't be alarmed, as this is part of the process.

While the effects on customers' water service should be minimal, you may experience cloudy water from your faucets when work is being performed nearby. This is a product of the flushing. Allowing your water to flow for a few minutes should clear up your water. However, if you experience a water quality issue that seems more serious or doesn't go away, feel free to call us at (423) 877-3513.
