FIELD MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Field Maintenance Technician is an important part of Hixson Utility’s Water Distribution Department. This role assists in the day-to-day maintenance and repair work for our water infrastructure. Field Maintenance Technician will work with other employees on the Water Distribution staff to quickly carry out assigned work orders that may include; repairs to water mains, installation or relocation of water services, meter reading, and maintenance of equipment. This position helps keep the water flowing across the district, which requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work efficiently. The Field Maintenance Technician will follow HUD’s communication guidelines, policies, procedures, and other duties as assigned.
Primary responsibilities/requirements of the Field Maintenance Technician include:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous utility experience is not required, but it will be helpful. A Class A CDL is preferred, but not required to be considered for the position. CDL must be obtained after hire. Before hire, the individual must pass an extensive background check and drug screening.
